Longboarding Season
Spring is almost here and for me that means that it's almost longboarding season. For those who don't know, longboarding is skateboarding but you use a skateboard that is really long, however, longboarding is very different from regular skateboarding. Longboards are a lot easier to ride than regular skateboards because they provide more stability. They also have huge wheels. These two things combined allows you to travel at speeds much faster than a regular skateboard. The current speed record for longboarding is 130km/h and that's just from the force of gravity from going down a huge hill. Also, to me, longboarding is a lot more peaceful. There is nothing more peaceful than longboarding down a nice hill on a summer afternoon with some friends. The thing that makes me mad is that I can never go out longboarding without someone yelling at me to get off the road. Even when we ride on the sidewalk we get yelled at. One time we were longboarding downtown in Waterdown on the sidewalk to Mcdonalds and we got stopped by a cop. He said that we weren't even allowed to ride on the sidewalk. Apparently there's a law in the Hamilton region that doesn't allow longboarding on sidewalks or city streets. If you disobey you can be fined $100 or go to jail. I'm not really sure where im supposed to longboard now because that pretty much covers everything. I hope longboarding will be better this year.
